An AI companion on Desi Avtar is a fictional character with its own personality and backstory, and every reply is generated by AI. Companions can be warm, funny and flirty. The companions on this page are written to keep romance non-graphic: they answer in character with teasing, shyness or a playful boundary rather than explicit content.

You do not have to pick a language. Type in Hindi in Devanagari, type Hinglish the way you would in a WhatsApp message, or use English. The companion matches you, and you can switch whenever you like. Their small actions, written between asterisks, come in Hinglish too, so it reads like a desi conversation rather than a translation.

In the Desi Avtar Android app you can call a companion and talk out loud in Hindi or Hinglish. Calls are paid with minute packs priced in rupees, and your balance is shown in minutes. There are no free minutes, and calling is not available on the website or on iPhone. The AI voice call in Hindi page explains which characters you can call.
Text chat is free and supported by ads. On the website you will be asked to watch a short video ad at a couple of points in a conversation. In the Android app, free use shows ads between messages and when you open a character. An optional premium plan, priced in rupees, removes ads. Call minutes are bought separately.
On the website your chat history is saved in your browser, on that device, and you can clear a chat at any time. To generate replies, your messages are sent to Desi Avtar’s servers, and the privacy policy says chats are used to improve the AI. Never share OTPs, passwords, bank details or anything you would not want stored.
