Most AI roleplay is set in fantasy worlds or American high schools. Desi Avtar’s is set next door: the uncle with opinions, the maid who runs four houses, the sub-inspector who asks one question too many. The characters speak Hindi and Hinglish, and even their actions come out in Hinglish. Here is what there is and how to play.

The Roleplay section has twelve ready-made scenes. Each comes with a setting, artwork and an opening line, so you are dropped straight into a situation. You can browse all of them on the website and play them in the Android app.
Write in Hindi, Hinglish or English — the character follows. Actions go between asterisks, and the characters write their own actions in Hinglish, which keeps the scene from reading like a translation:
*darwaza khatkhatata hoon* Uncle, aapki gaadi phir se meri jagah khadi hai.— Opening a mohalla scene.
*file table pe rakhti hoon* Madam, maine sab likh diya hai. Bas ek baat chhoot gayi.— Giving Sapna something to catch.
Didi, sach batao — kitna bura hai?— Starting a scene with Nurse Didi.

You do not need a ready-made scene. Any character in an ordinary chat will play along with a situation you describe — and that works in the browser, no app needed. A few who suit it:
Try PT Sir for a school-ground scene, the history storyteller for a story set in another century, or Dada Ji for a village tale. The full cast is in the Indian AI characters directory.
Any ordinary chat can become a roleplay. Three ingredients are enough: a place, a relationship and a problem. Mix and match:
| Place | Relationship | Problem |
|---|---|---|
| A crowded shaadi | Cousins who have not spoken in years | The caterer has vanished |
| The hostel mess at midnight | Roommates | Someone ate the exam-night Maggi |
| A train berth | Strangers | The ticket collector wants to see a ticket you do not have |
| A kirana shop | Shopkeeper and regular customer | The udhaar has piled up |
| Nani’s house in the holidays | Grandchild and grandparent | A locked trunk nobody will explain |
Open with one line that puts all three in play — "*shaadi ke pandal mein bhaagte hue aata hoon* Caterer ka phone band hai!" — and let the character take it from there.
